Crockpot Turkey Meatloaf: Better than your mama’s meatloaf!

This is not to knock on anyone’s mama’s meatloaf, especially the day before Mother’s Day, but this is seriously the best meatloaf we’ve ever had. Meatloaf recipes are a dime a dozen. Even with my culinary training, I had never found an ingredient combination that I really liked. They all seemed bland and tasteless, and I’ve never really cared for the ketchup glaze traditional with meatloaf recipes. Â
The Lucky Wife was researching recipes one day and came across this meatloaf recipe at AllRecipes.com, “Melt-in-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf”. We figured four and a half star rating out of 365 reviews… definitely worth a shot. We adapted the recipe and did try the ketchup glaze from this recipe the first time we made it. It was good, and yes, it does melt in your mouth. We’d never heard of a meatloaf recipe using a slow cooker either. Â
The second time we made it, we decided to use turkey and to leave the glaze off. Even better, we thought, and this has been how we’ve made it ever since. It has become a regular main dish for us.
