Someone please tell me I’m not the only one who’d never heard of Pizzelles! Of course I had to research them, and let me tell you this little cookie has a neat history, which I found on a site dedicated solely to Pizzelles, including a chance to win a free Bakers Dozen of Pizzelles each month.
Our recipe for today comes from Lynn at Happier Than a Pig in Mud, so head on over there to get it!

There is discussion each year around Christmastime about “The War on Christmas,” or the effort within our culture to push the use of politically correct verbiage, particularly by retail establishments, in wishing shoppers a “Happy Holidays,” or “Seasons Greetings,” rather than “Merry Christmas”. MSNBC reported last year some good news last year for those fighting to “save Christmas”, claiming that “Christmas is winning” the war.
What do you think? Are you familiar with the history of Christmas and what’s behind so much of what we see and experience during the Christmas season? In my opinion, in order to understand why Christmas is such an important holiday, especially in America, we have to understand the history of the birth of America in its totality, not just from the economic perspective. Wallbuilders is an excellent organization that provides information towards this end. Check them out for further resources and information.
Before you leave the party, don’t forget to check out the ideas from the Christmas Smorgasbord. Add yours!
Thanks for joining the party today! Â
Have a great day!
