Today Is Our SITS Feature Day! {Party food recipe ideas}

Print Friendly and PDF

Today is a big day for us, as we are the featured blog over at SITS!  Welcome fellow bloggers and readers from the SITS community!  With the Christmas season upon us, we thought you might enjoy some ideas for party foods.

But first, for those of you who are unfamiliar with SITS, it is an online community of women bloggers whose primary mission is to support each other by leaving comments on the blogs of fellow SITStahs.  Besides the opportunity to have a feature day, members can connect with others in the SITS forums and learn from the wealth of knowledge about blogging offered through the education channel each week.  They are a wonderful resource for bloggers.

We have served 1-2 recipes weekly since starting our blog in January, 2011.  This first year blogging, we decided to have a different focus each month for our Saturday recipes.  We feel like this helped us offer a good variety of recipes and that most anyone should be able to find something to suit their taste.  We decided that since we are in the middle of the Christmas season, we would share with you first some great party food ideas:

1) Berry Canapes; 2) Block Cheese "Neapolitan"; 3) "Thin Mint" Holiday Ice Cream Sandwiches; 4) Nutty Cherry Chocolate Drops; 5) Lemon-Lime Ice Cream Soda Shots; 6) Berry Citrus Fruit Kabobs with Caramel Dipping Sauce; 7) Banana Pudding Discs; 8) Tomato and Mozzarella Crostinis; 9) Mini Brats; 10) Garlic Potato Salad on Cucumber Discs; 11) Mini Soft Tacos; 12) Carrot Dip

For those of you who love Christmas, we are also in the middle of a Christmas series, The 100-Day Countdown to Christmas, where we have been featuring Christmas recipes, DIY/homemade Christmas gift ideas for foodies, DIY projects, and more.  Our co-host, Tricia, over at Recipe Roundup, featured the following Melting Snowman Cookie, which has been one of the most popular pins on Pinterest of all time:

The Homemade Limoncello guest post by Krysta over at My Life in Food has been a wildly popular Christmas series post, so we put together a collection of 20 recipes via Pinterest that use limoncello as an ingredient for those who enjoyed that post so much.

If you liked the idea of the Apple Cider Soup, showcased in our SITS feature post, I think you would enjoy The Chef's delicious Apple Sausage Pilaf with Pecans.

If you haven't found anything that interests you yet... may we direct you to our Recipe Index or What the "Food Critics" Have to Say page?  There you can see what our readers have to say about some of the recipes we've served.

Thanks for stopping by today to celebrate with us.  We would love to connect with you on Facebook.  If you have a blog, be sure to post the link to your Facebook page in a comment on our wall... we'd love to become a fan of your page as well.  You'll find that not all of our blog posts are recipes, though, usually food-related in some way!  Happy recipe hunting.... and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
