A new year always brings excitement and possibility for what can be, whether that is a “regular” new year or a new school year! It’s a chance to begin anew if the previous year had not gone so well, or to aim for higher goals and ambitions, possibly, when the year before had been a huge success.
For a new school year, for parents it can mean finding new options for the lunchbox, if your child takes lunch to school one or more days. This can be a huge challenge in and of itself, especially for parents of picky eaters and/or who want their children to eat as healthy a lunch as possible. Lunchbox options are limited anyway and my experience has been the longer the list of new ideas (or possibly reminders of some you may not have considered that aren’t so new) the better!
This week’s Foodie Talk with Chef John and Anne will be devoted to this topic, and along with our guest, Valerie Remy-Milora of Scrumptious Moms, we hope you will find some delicious new favorites and ideas for your child’s lunchbox!
Either way, listen in for some great ideas, and if you are an adult who takes or is thinking about taking your lunch to work, I believe you will find some ideas for yourself as well! It’s a great way to save some money and have a healthier lunch usually.

My Tristan starts school next month and hubby & I are still discussing whether he should have school dinners or a packed lunch……this might sway the decision
Hope he has a GREAT year… glad to have hopefully helped out on that decision! It’s a big one, but I guess they all are especially when the little ones are just starting out.
Great share! Lunchbox ideas are always handy!
My daughter just graduated from college and will be starting a new job. Even older “kids” can use great ideas for lunch. Thanks for sharing all of these!

Oh, good… so glad to help out with that! I have loved making a special lunchbox for my son on occasion but having variety is definitely a must for us.
Great for those needing to pack a lunch. Salads, sandwiches and leftovers can get boring.
I agree, the more lunch ideas the better, especially when you have a picky eater, like I do.
