When I give someone a gift, it’s important to me that they really like what I gave them. I put a lot of thought into what type of gift I think they will enjoy, and of course, I do not always get it right.
But don’t you love hearing things like, “Where did you find this?” when they open a special, unique kind of gift? Or when their face lights up after they pull the final piece of wrapping paper off?
Well, if you have a foodie on your Christmas gift list, Blurb has something for them that is likely to elicit that type of response! How do I know? Because speaking as a foodie, as I was looking through the Blurb bookstore with foodies like myself in mind, the picks I came across started out as a list of ten but quickly grew to 15 as I stumbled onto more possibilities. I could spend hours looking through their cooking selection!
What is Blurb, you ask? Blurb is the leading indie- and self-publishing platform with an entire online bookstore full of beautifully designed, unique books by undiscovered, self-published authors, artists and photographers.
And while these titles are most likely not found in your recipient’s cookbook collection or bookshelf, many of them should be. I would love to receive any of these top 15 gift book ideas for foodies I found to share with you:

- A Cuppa Joe - As a coffee lover, I simply had to include a coffee book for my fellow coffee lovers out there. Anything coffee would be a most welcome gift for me!
- Cookie Cravings - Anyone who loves cookies is sure to love this one, authored by a popular food blogger. It has a beautiful cover.
- Cooking with the Doctor - This was published by a Master Chef, whose family encouraged him to immortalize over 50 years of his recipes.
- Deceptively Sweet - Ever heard of the Paleo Diet? I had not until the past few months when I started seeing “paleo recipes” on food blogs and Pinterest. If you have someone in your family who is into Paleo, you likely know it because apparently it is a major lifestyle change as the diet is very restrictive (no processed foods, grains, dairy) so I’m sure they are always interested in new recipe ideas!
- Easy Cooking with Chef EZ - Now this one you could easily get for anyone with kids who like to cook with mom or dad, budding foodies, should we say? Ours love to help out in the kitchen and we should really take the time more often to let them!
- Entertaining by the Bay - This one sounds like it is full of great ideas for those who love having guests in their home. You can never have too many fresh ideas for entertaining!
- Everyday Gourmet - For those who like to try gourmet type dishes at home, this is the perfect gift.
- Family Fun Guide Book - Restaurant (eBook) - We do not like waiting, do we? It’s even harder for kids! Waiting at the doctor’s office or waiting to be seated at a restaurant … I keep things in my purse to pull out for those times. But this book would be a great resource for some new ideas. It is an eBook so not the type of gift you can wrap, but it would be nice to be able to access it on your phone when out and about if you need a new idea while waiting somewhere. Ebooks as gifts are also perfect for recipients you may not see in person for gift-giving.
- “Food” - This looks like an interesting, fun and unique book for anyone who loves food.
- Food & Restaurant Photography - If your foodie loves eating out and photography, this looks like the book for that person! Food bloggers are always working on improving their food photography, because let’s face it, if it doesn’t look good (presentation) people aren’t as interested in tasting it.
- Game Day Eats for Hungry Fans (eBook) - Another eBook with tailgating recipe ideas for the football foodie in your life.
- Gourmet Forte - This is an interesting book that focuses on how to eat great “home-cooked” meals with limited facilities while traveling. So perfect for foodies who also travel frequently but perhaps do not want to spend lots of money eating out while away.
- Kitchen Journal - The Chef loves to create in the kitchen and make his own adaptations to recipes. He has a notebook that he keeps track of these details while creating … and as a guy that works for him. Girls, however, we like everything to look pretty, so a kitchen journal would be more our speed.

- Restaurant Cooking on a Budget - Does anyone like the word budget? It’s a tough reality, though, that eating out can really take a chunk out of your bank account, especially if you do it often. We love to eat out, but knowing how to make restaurant quality meals at home at a fraction of the cost comes in super handy. This way, you can do dinner and a movie and never even leave home. Sometimes that’s nice, too … no traffic or long waits for a table if you don’t do the reservation type place.
- Semi-Gourmet on a Budget - Oops … here’s that word again. Hey, it is what it is, and healthy, successful corporations operate on one.

So there you have it. There is bound to be something in this list of 15 book ideas for most any foodie, and possibly even some who might not consider themselves foodies but enjoy cooking and/or eating out.
Head over to Blurb and check out the other categories in their bookstore for some of the other people on your list with different interests! You may be able to end your search for the perfect gift for that person this season today.
