A Final Meal
I knew exactly what I wanted on Saturday for my last meal, the last time I’d get to eat at my favorite restaurant of all time before we packed up the last load of belongings and were completely moved into our new home in a different area.
We’d lived in Charleston for several years once before and had only been back in the area for a few months before The Chef’s company told us they wanted us to relocate… again.
We’ve eaten at this restaurant many times in the past, but not recently, which made the meal taste even better this time! If you ever visit the Charleston, SC area, be sure to try The Mustard Seed, located on James Island and in Summerville.
It is, in my opinion, most definitely without a doubt the best place to eat in Charleston SC.
If you like seafood and pasta, order my favorite Saute Shrimp Linguine. As The Well-Fed Son would say, “It’s delicious!”

Location
When we lived in Charleston the first time, this restaurant was located just next door to its current location in a quaint little house that had been painted a yellow color. Parking was always an issue and it was always full, so they must have outgrown the space there. The new building is not nearly as charming but the food is still what we remembered, full of flavor and unlike your typical restaurant.
Menu
You would always find specials that were different from what other restaurants had on their menus and everything we ever had was amazing. Although, I did find myself going back to my Saute Shrimp Linguine pretty regularly, but I would almost always taste whatever The Chef was having.
Atmosphere and Service
The atmosphere was casual and relaxing. You’d probably feel most comfortable dressing in snappy casual attire. The prices, we felt, were extremely reasonable for the quality of food served and the service was always exceptional as well.
We grieved leaving this restaurant probably as much as we did leaving our home and friends when we had to move away… every area needs a restaurant like this one in it!
What’s your favorite restaurant or meal?
